Aiming for Contentment

Contentment, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is a "state of happiness and satisfaction."

Seems to me this is a target we all aim for. Afterall, we are imperfect and yet, we are called toward the perfect (God).

While I feel I am a happy person, I am not content. Each day I awake full of energy and with desire to "be" God's child, anxious to get things that need done, done, and thankful for my life, my health, my family, the gift of faith, and the hope of eternal life.

Life is designed to be difficult and I seem to enjoy it that way. I like challenges and problem-solving in spite of the pressure problems exert onto my contentment.

I am learning that contentment rests with God and if I aim for total contentment my strategy and actions should lie in knowing God, following Jesus, and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me.
