Palm Sunday...a journey of faith and humility

During our adult religious education session this morning we spent some thinking about how we might best describe "Jesus's 'Style'" as he interacted with people in need and those who seemed to question the truth of his existence on earth.

For me, the one word I feel best describes his "Style" would be "humility."

Today, as we celebrate Palm Sunday and find Jesus riding on a donkey, we can easily relate to his humility. Unlike kings who rode horses to battle, riding a donkey was a direct signal that Jesus came to bring peace, not to wage war.

Faith coupled with humility is a foundational Christian virtue where trusting in God is paired with recognizing one's own insignificance, weakness, or sinfulness.

Lord, give me the strength to resist temptation in using power as I strive to serve and, instead, grow in faith and be humble as Jesus has demonstrated today!
